Anime Girl Has One Blue Eye and Another One Has Red and Magic Too

Anime characters with red eyes are more common than others like:

  • Purple.
  • Yellow.
  • Gold.

Or similar colors. But they're also not the most common there is (for example – blue eyes).

Red hair can symbolize rage, anger, passion, danger, evil, or intensity. But red eyes don't necessarily symbolize those things, but they can compliment those traits.

Other times it can just be a design style and nothing more.

Here's a list of characters who are just like that!

Anime characters red eyes:

1. Enju Aihara (Black Bullet)

YouTube video

Enju Aihara is one of the main protagonists of the Black Bullet anime series. She has intense red eyes that make humans fear her because it's associated with her powers.

She's called a "cursed child" because her blood is mixed with a creature called a Gastrea, which gives her superhuman abilities.

Enju is childish and is only about 10-11 years old, and is one of the most chipper characters of the series who share similarities.

Her relationship and chemistry with Rentaro Satome, the male MC is what makes her personality shine and is a big part of what drives the anime's story.

2. Shana (Shakugan No Shana)

Shana on the average day has black hair and black/dark eyes. But once she becomes a "flame haze" her eye color changes and so does her hair.

She becomes the flaming haired, blazing eyed hunter with blazing red eyes and fiery red hair. And she's surrounded by glittering flames while in this form.

Shana is a Tsundere and is one of the original Tsundere's who influenced the trope in the anime industry. She's one of 4 characters called "the 4 Tsundere wonders".

Characters like Shana are the reason the trope caught on and blew up, then later become a common thing.

3. Akame (Akame Ga Kill)

Akame is the main character of the series with the title named after her. The anime studio behind Akame Ga Kill is studio whitefox.

Usually stoic, detached, calm, and unassuming, Akame is hard to read because her emotions aren't on display and she doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve.

This also makes her perfect as an assassin, which she was wrongly trained to do as a child against her and her sisters own will.

Akame does feel deeply and cares a lot about others, but it's usually hidden behind a veil because of the traumatic lifestyle.

4. Kaguya Shinomiya (Kaguya Sama Love Is War)

Kaguya Shinomiya has deep red eyes which are shown multiple times in the anime series. One of which when she says "how cute", a snippet from the anime that became meme material.

Her back and forth with Shirogane is what makes the anime entertaining as they battle it out to see who will confess first. But it evolves into more than that with Chika and other characters taking part.

Kaguya in some ways has a similar look to Akame with her black hair.

5. Muzan Kibutsuji (Demon Slayer)

Muzan Kibutsuji is a character we all know by now if you've watched Kmietsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer).

He's a cunning character who always seems to keep his distance despite how powerful and dangerous of a demon he is. Which makes it seems strange with his round about methods of targeting people.

He's responsible for Tanjiro's family being slaughtered while he was away, and for Nezuko becoming a demon.

His "look" has also lead to his association with Michael Jackson when first spotted wearing a certain hat.

6. Itachi Uchiha (Naruto)

Itachi Uchiha is a classic character with red eyes. This is shown most when Itachi knocks on Naruto Uzumaki's door to "greet" him.

Itachi like some characters with red eyes has black hair which makes his eye color stand out a little more than normal.

He's one of the most misunderstood Naruto characters and though many praise and respect him, some fans can't stand him and demonize him for his actions.

7. Hikaru Shidou (Magic Knight Rayearth)

Hikaru Shidou is my favorite anime character out of the main trio in Magic Knight Rayearth. She's passionate, loyal, has a big heart, likes cute things, and is the first to stand up for other people.

Having some skills in martial arts and growing up doing it makes her slightly tomboy-ish, but that's another story with her feminine looks and long hair.

Her red eyes match her red hair, red outfit, and fiery passion which is symbolic and done intentionally.

8. Inori Yuzuriha (Gulty Crown)

Inori Yuzuriha is the pink haired girl from Guilty Crown. She's the one SHU OUMA comes across in the beginning of the anime series.

She's the one who gives SHU his powers and abilities. Not long after she starts to act and seem cold towards Shu, but this is explained down the line.

Considering so many anime girls with pink hair have become a cliche for being Yanderes or having bad vibes, Inori is definitely different in this way.

9. Holo The Wise Wolf (Spice And Wolf)

Holo The Wise Wolf has deep red eyes and brown/reddish hair like a fox. She is a deity but not one with any special powers that are OP or over the top. She can take the form of a real wolf when needed.

In general she's wise just as her name implies, and she's the brains and intuition of the group to a degree. She can see danger before it happens, and spot a liar from a mile away which is good for business.

Her romance with Kraft Lawrence and their journey together is one of a kind.

10. Accelerator (A Certain Magical Index)

Accelerator has white hair, is scrawny and skinny as F, and doesn't seem that threatening looking from the outside in… But that's the mistake everyone makes at first glance.

In this anime he's the most powerful esper in Academy city, a place with millions of espers. He has the ability to control vectors, making him an impossible opponent to fight since everything is based on vectors.

His red eyes match his personality, his upbringing, his shitty experiences with other people trying to use and take advantage of him, and his overall mindset.

He's a likable villain.

11. Leticia Draculea (Problem Children Are Coming From Another World)

Leticia Draculea is as the name implies. She's a vampire. She's proud and isn't afraid to show it. She's also insightful and has a fresh perspective on life.

She believes doing and trying new things is what life is all about, and insists it's what makes life worth living.

12. Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer)

Tanjiro Kamado is a character with red eyes who's the least threatening person on this list, or one of them. He's an overly nice protagonist but that's also part of his differentiation.

After losing his family and coming home to the sight of their dead bodies, Tanjiro is traumatized but the one thing he has in this life keeps him going: his sister.

She's turned into a demon but is restrained and that's enough for Tanjiro to stick by her side and find a way to turn her back into a human again.

13. Gajeel Redfox (Fairy Tail)

Gajeel Redfox, or "black steel Gajeel" is the name he goes by. He has one of the best character developments in the entire Fairy Tail series.

First he starts out as a villain along with Juvia Lockser. After losing he turns a new leaf, but not without struggle and being harshly judged by certain members of Fairy Tail.

Eventually he starts to open up and change his ways thanks to Levi Mcgarden, the only person to give him a chance from the beginning. And their relationship turns out to be one of the best in the franchise.

14. Ryuk (Death Note)

Ryuk is a Shinigami and not the most attractive looking Shinigami compared to an anime like Bleach. He's the truth definition of what you'd expect a death bringer to look like.

He's always eating apples. There's no other fruit he seems to like. The apples are always red. He likes to laugh a lot and has a peculiar chemistry with the main character, but he understandably has a sinister side.

Whenever his eyes turn a deep red, you know shit's about to go down.

15. Soul Evans (Soul Eater)

Soul Evans, or just "Soul" is a funny b*stard in the Soul Eater series. He's definitely one of the reasons the comedy is so good, and why the humor is on point.

Being the weapon that Maka Albarn uses,he's able to take human form or weapon form in the shape of a SYCTHE. He gradually becomes more powerful along with his owner, Maka.

Though he doesn't jave big eyes, his actual eye color is red and it's still clear to see.

16. Mei Misaki (Another)

Mei Misaki wears an eye patch but not for the sake of it. She's one of the most memorable characters who has this style as far as character design.

She has black hair, red eyes, and the eye she covers with a patch is unique based on a condition she has. She comes across as aloof, hard to figure out, introverted, and distant.

Once you get to know her you see how smart and intelligent she is, and how much she thinks about the world around her and the way she observes it.

17. Megumin (Konosuba)

Megumin is from the Crimson demon clan. A clan of users who specialize in a certain type of magic. Megumin is stubborn and refuses to learn other spells despite having the capabilities to do it.

She instead focuses on explosion magic and decides to MAX out this skill, making her extremely powerful when casting this spell. But at the detriment of losing all her strength afterwards.

She's an eccentric character who Kazuma wasn't sure about at first, but after inviting her to join his party they start t build a bond together.

Like Mei Miaki, she also has an eye patch but it's just for show.

18. Lucy (Elfen Lied)

Lucy from Elfen Lied is a victim the moment the anime begins. She breaks out of her laboratory, the place where she's forced to endure pain and harsh experiments.

After killing everyone who stands in her way, she falls into the ocean and washes up at shore somewhere far away. She loses her memories and regresses to a weaker state.

As a Dliconius (a man made life form) she has vectors and this is what makes her dangerous. The government is after her with one goal in mind: murder.

She's easily one of the most traumatic characters in anime with 2 sides to her personality. though understandable.

19. Mahiro Fuwa (Zetsuen No Tempest)

Mahiro Fuwa is the blonde secondary protagonist in Zetsuen No Tempest. He's brash, harsh, straightforward, and doesn't take shit from anyone. He's an aggressive character.

This is the opposite to his friend Yoshino, who's more laid back and lenient.

Mahiro fights for his sister, a girl who died before the main story takes place. And he's on a mission to find the killer with the help of a powerful mage called Kusaribe Hakaze.
